We’ve got the Kenner Classics Ecto-1 as well as two Kenner Classics figures – the Bugeye and Fearsome Flush ghosts! Thanks to Hasbro for sending these free products to us for our review!
Whether you a fan of the Ghostbuster’s movies or a toy collector, you are sure to fall in love with these toys. First of all, the packaging is captivating with the vibrant colors and beautifully created artwork. The Fearsome Flush figure is sort of like a fidget toy which you won’t want to put down. When you push it forward or backward, the lids open and close to reveal a ghost. You’ll have a poppin’ good time with the Bug-Eye Ghost figure! If you hit the Bug-Eye on the middle of its back, the eyeball pops out. I have to say our favorite was the Ecto-1 Vehicle. In this adorable picture book, Being Small (Isn’t So Bad After All), Lori Orlinsky tells the story of a young girl who doesn’t want to go to school because she is the shortest person in her class. She is frustrated with the disadvantages she deals with but with the help of her mom, realizes there are just as many advantages to being shorter. *This book was provided to me for free for my review and all opinions are my own. *
The beautiful illustrations by Vanessa Alexandre bring to life the little frustrations the sweet girl has on a daily basis including not being able to reach the ball when playing sports or her feet not touching the ground when sitting in a chair. Her mom is then able to help her see the many advantages she has over others who are taller than her including climbing in to tiny spaces without hitting your head and being the first they see in class photos! I love that this story teaches kids it doesn’t matter what size you are, you can do great things. Focus on what you can do, not what you can’t do. Be proud of who you are and know that we are all special in our own way.

The House of Happy Spirits by Geraldine Elschner and illustrated by Lucie Vandevelde is a story that centers around a new building being constructed in Lea’s neighborhood and she is worried that her favorite tree will be chopped down. As time goes by, she sees her tree becoming surrounded by bricks. Thankfully, the tree is fine and actually ends up being a beautiful centerpiece of the new building. Kids will love the captivating drawings of the people, pets and all the hustle and bustle of city life. This hardcover book retails for $14.95 and is recommended for ages 4 and up.
The Little Dancer by Geraldine Elschner and illustrated by Olivier Desvaux is a story about a young girl named Jeanne in 19th-century Paris whose dream is to become a ballet dancer. She auditions at the Opera Garnier and moves to Montmartre. While preparing for her performance, she also become an inspiration for an artist. The beautiful story and illustrations will transport you into Jeanne’s world including where she lives with her mom, her rehearsals for this most important performance and the completion of the sculpture. The Magic Doll by Adrienne Yabouza and illustrated by Élodie Nouhen is a story that takes place in a small village in West Africa. A young girl tells the story of how her mother had trouble getting pregnant and the way she seeked help from a doll whom she carried on her back and showered with kisses. Here belly began to grow months later. The topic of the Akua-Ba fertility figures of the Akan people of Ghana is explored while the deep love a mother has for her children is depicted. David Roberts’ Delightfully Different Fairy Tales is filled with a beautiful of array of fairy tales that are set in different decades of the 20th century while being feminist and spunky. Another tale takes us to the 1950s with a sci-fi nerd Sleeping Beauty that pricks her finger on a record player. The story is filled with only women and girls; no princes needed! This Thing Called Life by Christian Borstlap is a wonderful book to help children see the connections between all living things, what life is and how it’s constantly changing. Many of the creatures are imaginary but they all represent real things that organisms must do in order to survive. The illustrations help demonstrate complex concepts that are hard to put into words. The Three Wishes beautifully written and illustrated by Alan Snow follows a young boy who is herding his family’s reindeer when he comes across a mysterious cave that is the holder of eternal summer. A bird, a fish and a wooden creature watch over the cave which can’t be left without time being frozen in the outside world. He ends up being granted three wishes and as a result of hard work, he’s able to visit his family annually and help to encourage others to create Christmas traditions. You can follow the suggestions in the included booklet, or as we like to do with many of our building projects, go abstract and get as creative as you like. Robobaby is a new picture book by Caldecott winner David Wiesner that take you on a journey revolving around the arrival of a new baby, but not just for any family, it’s a robot family! We opened the Blume Baby Pop and the Flower Pot Girls in our YouTube video. Lindsey especially loves the pop sound when you remove you surprise pod to see what’s inside. They are just the cutest little figures and they’re scented too! There’s also everything enclosed for you to create a little play area for your babies! The Flower Pot Girls was such a fun unboxing experience as well. You add some water and surprise, you’re flower blooms and inside the pot, you’ll find your surprise doll! It’s such a great reveal and you can do it recreate the flower blooming again and again!
We also had such a great time creating our Blume-tastic winter wonderland. We were provided with some tools to create this fun diy project, but we also used some of our own items we had in house like our Frozen Elsa’s Ice Palace. Our Blume friends had the best time building snowman and going for carriage rides.

It’s Taco Tuesday and we’re making it an Ortega night! Ortega recently sent us some of their newest products to try. We received the Ortega Cauliflower and Flour Tortillas, Ortega Taco Pizza Kit, Ortega Cauliflower and Corn Taco Shells plus the new Street Taco Sauces – Tinga, Moho and Asada. *This products were sent to us for free and all opinions are my own. *
The Ortega Cauliflower and Flour Tortillas are a great choice for those looking for an alternative to regular flour tortillas. Some of the flour is replaced by the cauliflower. These are great for burritos. tacos, wraps or quesadillas. The Ortega Pizza Kit is a great new option that the kids will love as they can top their own little pizzas. If you’re craving both and taco and a pizza, this will satisfy your craving for sure. The pizza crusts are made with corn meal and cook in less than 20 minutes. The Ortega Cauliflower and Corn Taco Shells are a delicious option if you’re looking for something new to try instead of the original corn tacos. The cauliflower replaces some of the corn but they are just as delicious as the traditional tacos.
I prepared some ground beef in the pan which is so versatile as we decided to make tacos, wraps and taco pizzas. I also chopped up some tomatoes, onions and lettuce with some shredded cheese on the side as well.
The finished products were delicious. The tacos were super crispy which is how we love ours. We filled them with beef, lettuce, cheese and onions. We also made wraps with the same fillings. The taco pizza was really crispy. I wasn’t sure what to expect with them; I thought they may not come out as crispy as they did, but I was very impressed with the end result. The kids loved to add their own toppings to these and they were super fun to make. The Street Taco Sauces offered a great array of options for your favorite taco night recipes whether cooking with beef, fish, chicken or pork.
