Guion The Lion Book Review

I was sent the book, Guion The Lion, for free to review and when I heard about the positivity that overflows from this book, I could not wait to check it out! Now more than ever, wouldn’t it be nice if we saw the magic in the every day? Guion The Lion shows you that you can! The book revolves around Guion who has a magical way in which he views the world and he hopes that his friend Rae can see what he sees. Magic happens when Rae finally catches on. This story, written by Rebecca Wilson Macsovits, helps us to understand that it’s okay to be different and that unique perspectives can allow you to experience new and exciting adventures!

I fell in love with not only the beautiful story but the captivating cover art and watercolor illustrations throughout the book. Rebecca’s inspiration for this story was her oldest son, Guion, who has Down syndrome. Sweet Suite At Home – A Virtual World of the Hottest New Toys!

In July of every year, we look forward to a beautiful, summertime ferry ride to New York City where we make our way to Chelsea Piers to attend Sweet Suite hosted by The Toy Insider. Sweet Suite, known as “the biggest toy party of the year”, is attended by members of the media and digital influencers allowing them a sneak peek at the hottest new toys. We didn’t think there would be any events this year due to the pandemic. But, to our delight, the team at The Toy Insider worked their magic and brought us the most amazing virtual world of toys, Sweet Suite At Home! This virtual event was held on July 22 from 12pm to 5pm with an after-hours session from 8pm to 10pm. Over 50 toy companies participated in the event including, Jazwares, Mattel, Hasbro, Spin Master and Moose Toys. Once you enter the virtual event space, you can choose to take your time browsing around or use the floor plan to quickly take you to the booth of your choice. There were many different ways to interact whether you had set up in advance a one-on-one zoom session with a company representative, stopped by for a group zoom of a product demonstration or viewed previously recorded videos and images of the new products. A YouTube Lounge was even available where you could connect with fellow creators.
