We’ve got a yummy meal idea for St. Patrick’s Day! Meat District is doing a limited run of its Paddy’s Angus Corned Beef sold exclusively through Trader Joe’s. Corned Beef is a traditional part of Irish-American St. Patrick’s Day meals and uncured corned beef brisket is a favorite that many don’t have the time to make. Angus beef brisket, after a long, slow cook, is soft and tender and develops a balanced salty, spiced and beefy taste. This traditional uncured corned beef is fully cooked and has no nitrates or nitrites. This perfectly tender and delicious meat would pair nicely with potatoes, buttered noodles or a side of cabbage. It would also be delicious sandwiched between rye bread and topped with your favorite mustard. It’s Taco Tuesday and we’re making it an Ortega night! Ortega recently sent us some of their newest products to try. We received the Ortega Cauliflower and Flour Tortillas, Ortega Taco Pizza Kit, Ortega Cauliflower and Corn Taco Shells plus the new Street Taco Sauces – Tinga, Moho and Asada. *This products were sent to us for free and all opinions are my own. *
The Ortega Cauliflower and Flour Tortillas are a great choice for those looking for an alternative to regular flour tortillas. Some of the flour is replaced by the cauliflower. These are great for burritos. tacos, wraps or quesadillas. The Ortega Pizza Kit is a great new option that the kids will love as they can top their own little pizzas. If you’re craving both and taco and a pizza, this will satisfy your craving for sure. The pizza crusts are made with corn meal and cook in less than 20 minutes. The Ortega Cauliflower and Corn Taco Shells are a delicious option if you’re looking for something new to try instead of the original corn tacos. The cauliflower replaces some of the corn but they are just as delicious as the traditional tacos.
I prepared some ground beef in the pan which is so versatile as we decided to make tacos, wraps and taco pizzas. I also chopped up some tomatoes, onions and lettuce with some shredded cheese on the side as well.
The finished products were delicious. The tacos were super crispy which is how we love ours. We filled them with beef, lettuce, cheese and onions. We also made wraps with the same fillings. The taco pizza was really crispy. I wasn’t sure what to expect with them; I thought they may not come out as crispy as they did, but I was very impressed with the end result. The kids loved to add their own toppings to these and they were super fun to make. The Street Taco Sauces offered a great array of options for your favorite taco night recipes whether cooking with beef, fish, chicken or pork.

We had a great time using the Chocolate Pen to create some yummy treats! We made Christmas tree brownies, chocolate-dipped cookies, holiday-shaped chocolates, cupcakes and chocolate-dipped pretzels. Lindsey had so much fun making abstract designs on everything!

We love baking in our house and especially since the pandemic began, we have been baking more than ever. We were so excited to try out the new Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cinnadust Seasoning Blend! Thanks to B&G Foods for sending us this free product! This seasoning blend consists of cinnamon and sugar along with sweet notes of vanilla and graham and tastes just like Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal! You can add it to your favorite breakfast items, baked goods, coffee or whatever you want to make a little sweeter.
The first recipe we decided to try was Cinnamon Buns. For this recipe, you only need three ingredients for the pastry: Cinnadust, Pillsbury Crescent Rounds and margarine or butter. For the glaze, you will need powdered sugar and water.
Simply roll out the crescent rounds and spread melted butter or margarine on the the pastry sheet. Then sprinkle as much Cinnadust as you’d like on top of the pastry. Roll it up and cut it into rounds by simply following the perforated cuts already there. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 12 minutes. While they’re baking, put a couple of tablespoons of powdered sugar into a bowl. Add a few drops of water and mix. Remember to go gently on the water as it goes a long way. Mix and add more powdered sugar or water until you reach the consistency you’d like. Once the cinnamon rolls are out of the oven, you can gently sprinkle the glaze over them with a spoon. Eat right away warm if you’d like.
The cinnamon rolls were delicious. They had the perfect balance of cinnamon and sugar. In fact, the next night, both Mke and the kids asked if we could make more! They were definitely a hit in our house! Cinnadust is available exclusively at Sam’s Club.
